Montrose’s previous team of leading executives are resurrecting the Montrose brand from its retirement in 2006.

James Baker, former President of Montrose Products, Henning L. Hansen, former VP of Sales & Engineering, and David Ertsgard, former Business Unit Manager has joined forces to launch the comeback of Montrose brand.

Five years after the closure of the Montrose plant in Auburn, Massachusetts, with a sixty year history in innovation and leadership in the field of high technology solutions, the former employees will put Montrose back on the map.

Montrose began operations in late stages of World War II with a commission from the USA government to manufacture field wire for military communications. The manufacturing plant was setup in Auburn, Massachusetts. By the end of the war, the company shifted its focus toward commercial markets using two original extruders. Primarily targeting the brown goods industry, Montrose grew into a trusted brand name supplier in the television and radio market; manufacturers included, Magnavox, Motorola, RCA, Zenith and Admiral. By the late 1950s Montrose became a major supplier of cable products for Univac and IBM.

Montrose’s ability to efficiently react to customers’ requirements for design, development and manufacturing has led to a reputation in outstanding customer service that will be re-mirrored in its re-launch.

Additionally, Montrose was the first cable manufacturer to pioneer and develop Data Specialty products, gaining the undivided attention of its earliest customers: IBM, Cisco and Dell. Montrose also led the technology platform for development of the “Bus & Tag Cable,” which, was specially deployed for the IBM System 3600. On top of that, in the migration of the local area network, Montrose became one of the leading companies engineering the IBM cabling System and LAN category cable products with Digital Equipment Corporation, otherwise known as Category 5 and 6.

Later, in the mid to late 90’s, Montrose led the standardization of Category 7 cables enabling today’s internet speed in excess of 700 Mhz.

Montrose is known for quality products in networking, building automation, and 40-100GB/s high-speed datacenter cabling products. Other Montrose markets include robotic and high flex cables, medical cables and subsystems, RF and microwave coaxial cables.

Montrose has transformed into a one stop solution destination for the advance need of all requirements of high technology and innovative cable design and cable sub-systems.

With a proud heritage of innovation, top quality and excellent customer service, the Montrose brand will continue its reputation into the 21st century!
